Official Beer Pong Tournament Rules (World Series of Beer Pong) – v2018-03-001. As soon as a miss occurs, the game is over. At this time, players MUST alternate shooters in the event of multiple hits-one player may NOT take all the redemption shots. The only exception to this rule occurs when there are three cups remaining when. The game typically consists of opposing teams of two or more players per side with 6 or 10 cups set up in a triangle formation on each side.[1] Each team then takes turns attempting to shoot ping pong balls into the opponent's cups. Hey guys, weird questioni’ve played beer pong for about 5 years now right when i got out of high school and i’ve put together two good sized tournaments in the midwestim putting another one together and am deciding how many tables to make/buy to make the tournament playable in 1 day. My question ishow long is the average pong game. Don’t count the time it takes to set up or fill up your cups. I just want to know how long from first shot til game over. I’ve never even thought about it and actually don’t really know. I am thinking its probabl around 8 minutes? Oh yeah, this is for 10 cups pong. I wouldn’t use 8 minutes as an average game length estimate. If you try to schedule on that you’re liable to go way off, especially if you allow OT. In my book it’s better to pad the time and maybe have a little dead time in-between rounds (and stay on schedule) than it is have the schedule get way off. This also gives you more time to take care of the little issues that always arise at tournaments like rule disputes and what-have-you. You’d probably be safe with 15 min per round if you’re not including the time it takes for setup. With setup I usually estimate 20 min and that’s with no OT. That seems to give even the worst players enough time to clear the table. Most games seem to be over by around 10 min, but there are always a handful that are stuck on the last couple of cups, and then as the tournament progresses and people get drunk, games tend to go on a little longer. Apple id website. Number of re-racks and rollback rule also make a difference of a few minutes time (more re-racks & double-ball rollback = quicker game). I think that’s pretty good advice, but then again, there are people on this forum that run more average-sized tournaments than I personally do–any of you guys want to weigh in on this? OBJECTIVE OF BEER PONG: Throw a ping pong ball into cups in order to get your opponents drunk. NUMBER OF PLAYERS: 2-4 players (played with fixed partnerships) MATERIALS: Table, 22 plastic cups, ping pong balls, beer TYPE OF GAME: Drinking AUDIENCE: Adults INTRODUCTION TO BEER PONG Beer Pong, or Beirut, is undoubtedly the most iconic drinking game ever. The traditional game, which is 10 cup beer pong (although 6 cup is not an uncommon set-up on smaller tables), has murky origins. It is believed that the game was invented at Dartmouth College in the 1950s or 1960s. The original version, supposedly, used ping pong paddles and a net, and resembled ping pong more than modern beer pong. Alternatively, students from Bucknell University claimed in their student newspaper that fraternity members of their Delta Epsilon chapter invented a game throw pong, which has more similarities to modern beer pong than the Dartmouth version. This game was passed from college to college via party until it spread across the United States. ![]() The source of the name Beirut is also contested and even rejected by some beer pong enthusiasts. Apparently, the name references the paddle-less version of beer pong, however; the majority of players of the game refer to the paddle-less version as beer pong. Supposedly, Beirut was invented during the Lebanese Civil War, where the capital, Beirut, was at the center of the fighting. THE SET-UP On a table (the standard size of a beer pong table is 2 feet wide x 8 feet long) set up ten cups on either end in the form of a pyramid. This will be as follows: a 5 cup base, 4 cups directly above that, then 3 cups, 2 cups, and the top cup. The remaining 2 cups accompany the pyramids: 1 cup per pyramid.
